True…there wasn’t a new SharePoint release this year, but if you were at the SharePoint Conference in LA, you wouldn’t have guessed this given the large number of attendees (over 7500 people),the quality content (over 240 sessions) and the abundance of networking opportunities available (over 200 partners and vendors).
KMA took full advantage of the conference by sending 6 SharePoint consultants to learn about topics such as SharePoint adoption & governance, business intelligence, FAST, project server, WCM, and more. We were not disappointed!
Last week, we began disseminating the information learned by hosting a Top Ten Takeaways from the SharePoint Conference webinar (p.s. there will be SPC deep dive events in Waltham and Cambridge later in November) This blog will highlight the aha moments from the webinar.
Big key takeaways:
1. SharePoint Metrics
The SharePoint metrics say it all. SharePoint is truly entering its Sophomore (if not Junior year). It has become a standard Enterprise solution being used for a multitude of reasons. It has matured to so much more than a content management systems to indeed become valuable LOB solutions!
2. Top 10 Takeaways
Yes, I have to go with the obvious takeaway.... the top 10 list. And I recommend listening to the webinar recording or view the slides for additional top 10 list details.
(Side note: Project Server did not make the list, but... it was definitely a worthy topic and one we plan to spend additional time on at our live event.)
3. SharePoint Conference Blogs & Resources
Great blog posts by some of my colleagues that are worth a shout out....
- Mike’s Blog articles (SPC six-post series)
- Chris McNulty Blog articles (SPC three-post series)
