Like the swallows returning to Capistrano (overused metaphor!) Microsoft has released its latest harbinger of spring - its bimonthly February 2010 Cumulative Updates for SharePoint. As with all hotfixes, please test in a non-production environment before deploying to production.
Some additional planning considerations:
· Although these patches only require SP1, Microsoft is planning to make subsequent patches dependent on SharePoint SP2.
· Microsoft is readying SharePoint 2007 SP3, sometime midyear.
Again, if you ever need to confirm which update/revision of SharePoint you are running, without accessing the binary files themselves, these version numbers correspond to the version numbers reported in SharePoint Central Administration. You can find this by going into the Operations tab, and under Topology and Services, select Servers in Farm.
And remember, thanks to Steve Ballmer (not just CEO but also Chief Server Engineer!) Microsoft has also added a new section to TechNet to help with identifying current required SharePoint patch levels - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/sharepointserver/bb735839.aspx (Thanks, Steve!)

The subject is fully clear but why does the text lack clarity? But in general your blog is great.
